Access - State Land from N, S, E, W.
Route - 3 trails, one road, and numerous off trail routes.
Summit - Open rock, 360 degree views. Visitors center, viewers, weather station, usually a ton of visitors that have driven up.
Quad - Lake Placid
Mountain Range - Wilmington Range
Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. However in the winter the toll road can be skied.
Misc. - The toll road is closed to hikers during times of operation. The summit can be very crowded from visitors that have driven to the parking area just below the top. There is an elevator from there to the top or a staircase can be climbed the remaining distance. The name Whiteface, we believe comes from the look it has with all its slides on the ski center side. On a good clear day Mount Royal and the skyscrapers in Montreal can be seen. Also, Vermont, and the tall peaks on this side of New Hampshire can be picked out, if you know what you're looking for.
