Access - State Land from N, S, E, W. Route - State trail from Four Corners. Summit - Rocky top with 360 degree views. Quad - Mt. Marcy Mountain Range - No specific range, just SW of Marcy. Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. Trail has a good chance of being packed down during winter months. Mid week snow can mean an unpacked trail until the weekend. Misc. - Has the largest cairn in the Adirondacks and possibly the NE. It's an old indian tale, a hiker must carry a rock to the summit, if they don't it will surely rain. I carried one up, did you? Was named by Old Mountain Phelps after the characteristic look it had that day from Marcy.
