A view from the Ridge
Access - State Land from N, S, E, W. Route - Bushwhack from all sides. Summit - Wooded with views along ridge. Quad - Ampersand Lake. Mountain Range - Sawtooth. Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. This would be a death march without a pair of skis. If you have skis it would be a better approach along the NPT from Lake Placid. Keep in mind it's still a 18 trip hike or more.
Misc. -
Number 3 in height in the Sawtooth Range, but number 1 in difficulty. It's the second longest hike of the 100 highest at 18 plus miles, keep in mind "death march" when you plan this trip. The best approach we have seen is from Upper Works via Duck Hole-it's a much more interesting hike at least.
