Access - State Land from N, S, E, W. Route - Bushwhack from all directions. Summit - Small open top with outstanding views. Quad - Ampersand Lake. Mountain Range - Sawtooth. Winter access - Yes, same as non-winter access. However you might consider an approach from Pine Pond Trail. It's shorter, but chances are you'll have to break trail anyhow. Misc. - Also refered to as Raker as in the tooth of a saw. The Sawtooth Range got its name from its look of many saw tooths in a confined area. #1 just refers to its size in comparison to the others.
