Access - State Land from N, S, E, W. Route - State trail loop from W to E along rte 73. Summit - Wooded-no real views from the summit. Quad - Keene Valley. Mountain Range - Sentinel Range. Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. Usually broken out with an excellent base. Very good introduction to winter climbing peak. Misc. - This summit loop is best done with two cars. However, a great many of hikers walk the almost 3 miles of road back to their car. This is a very narrow section of road with cliffs on one side and lake on the other-we think it's kind of dangerous for people to walk. The ridge has a ton of bumps along it all with stellar views. There's balanced rocks along the way, making a great hike in itself. Be sure to check out the "Lemon Squeezer" located between the rocks. Topomap
