#18 - Panther Peak

Panther from the Couchy Ridge
Access - State Land from N, S, E, W. Route - Herdpath from the E. Summit - Open, very nice views. Quad - Santanoni Peak. Mountain Range - Santanoni Range. Winter Access - Yes. Access is via a Bradley Pond inlet, rather than the herd path to Times Square. This route does rejoin the original herd path close to Times Square. Misc. - Unsure where the name came about. Could be a referance to mountain lions that lived in the area in the late 1800's. At Times Square you will be only a hundred or so vertical feet from the summit of Panther. You will return here each time you branch off to another peak in the Santanoni Range.
