A great view from North River Mountain
Access - State Land from E. Private land from N, S, W. Route - Bushwhack from all sides. Permission is needed for most approaches. Summit - Partly wooded, but really sweet views. Quad - Mount Marcy. Mountain Range - North River Mountains. Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. However, the most popular route is over private property. You will need to obtain permission to climb from this side. Misc. - North River Mountain is the highest point along the ridge. Cheney is the second Highest and Rist is the third. Rist however doesn't count as a 100 highest peak. It's just to close to North River Mountain. The most popular approach is via East River Club roads. You must be with a member or become a member to use these approaches to the range.
