Access - State Land from S, E, AMR property from N, W. Route - 2 trails from W, N. bushwhack up slide from the W. Summit - Mostly open top, excellent views. Quad - Mount Marcy. Mountain Range - No specific range, Located E of the Great Range, and W of the Dix Mountain Wilderness. Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. Most popular route this time of year is via Dial from the N. Usually hard pack. Misc. - Named by locals because of it's appearance as seen from Elk Lake. It was not liked by many and was petitioned to be changed to Dial. Old Mountain Phelps protested and helped keep its name unchanged. Topomap
