#50 - Moose Mt.
Elevation 3899 ft.
 Fall colors from Moose
Access - State Land N,E,W. SOA property from the S. Route - SOA Trails from the SE. State Trail from McKenzie. Bushwhack route via slide. Summit - Semi wooded with nice views. Quad - Saranac Lake. Mountain Range - McKenzie Mountain Wilderness. Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. Very good chance the trails up this peak will be broken. But, with the almost daily dumping of snow that the Lake Placid area gets-don't be surprised that it's covered soon after. Should have excellent base early in the season. Misc. - Used to be name St. Armand Mountain because of the region it lays in. Why it now is called Moose may be due to the now rarely seen animal. Some of the older trail guides mention how all of the trails up this peak have all but disappeared. However with the help of the Shore Owner Association the trails have been reintroduced to the hiking world, and appreciated.
