Access - State Land from W,E and S. Private from SW and N.
Route - Bushwhack from Saddleback, or herd path from the West.
Summit - Very open ridge-double summit, furthest is highest, 360 degree views.
Quad - Lewis.
Mountain Range - Jay Range.
Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. Chances are the trail will be broken out. The ridge will be blown free of snow in spots, but the valleys will be full. Expect heavy snow drifts in spots.
Misc. - This peak has two disctinct summits-they look close in size, but the furthest is the tallest. Isn't that always the case? There used to be a trail from the Glen that approached Grassy Notch and Merriam Marsh-this is no longer there. It still shows on some maps, but it's over private land. The new state trail is down the road closer to Jay along the Glen road. The trail follows a property line. The trail doesn't have a sign for the trailhead but there is a state forest tree sign at the start and the steep bank is well worn from foot traffic-very hard to miss. The trail follows the entire ridge from the West.
