Access - State Land from S,E. AMR land from N,W. Route - Trail from Blake and Pinnacle Ridge, and Lake Road. Summit - Open rock top, top 10 view. Quad - Mount Marcy. Mountain Range - No specific range. E of the Great Range. Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. Only one opproach really used and that's from the AMR Lake Road. Some choose to walk the Lower Lake to the col Trail to climb Blake and Colvin. Misc. - Named after Verplanck Colvin, the famous surveyor of the Adirondack High Peaks. The peaks was also named Sabele at one point by Old Mountain Phelps. But the true name of Colvin was what was placed in the survey.
