Access - State Land from N. Elk Lake property from E. Private property from S,W. Route - Bushwhack from all sides. Summit - Partly wooded, with great views. Quad - Mount Marcy. Mountain Range - North River Mountains. Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. Long hike in winter with a rarely ever broken route. Misc. - Private approaches must receive permission to pass. The most popular route from the NW is on private land leased by the East River Club. Usually combined with North River Mountain for a longer day hike-fairly easy hike between the two, just stay below the ridge to the W.
