Access - State Land from N,S,E,W.
Route - State land trail from E,S,W.
Summit - Open with views off toward the Great Range.
Quad - Keene Valley.
Mountain Range - No specific range, South of Cascade.
Winter Access - Yes, same as non-winter access. The Brothers approach is the popular route in the winter. Extreme conditions can be seen on the open ridges, with massive amounts of deep snow drifts from high winds. The upper reaches is very steep and is very slippery, especially on the descent.
Misc. - Big Slide is named such because of its massive open rock face. The most popular route being the Brothers Ridge, but there are plenty more approaches to this peak that make for excellent loop trips.
